Sugar Logistics using latest Steelbro Sidelifter Technology

Durbans Sugar Logistics has been given a major boost with the introduction of a new Steelbro 6m - 36ton lift Sidelifter with toplift spreader at the Maydon Wharf facility. The machine is being used to place containers on the ground enabling hassle free loading of the containers. Once loaded the Steelbro sidelifter lifts the full container and places them onto waiting trailers for transportation. The benefits of stuffing containers on the ground have a chain reaction, from safety through to packaging as the bulk material can be palletised and driven into the containers with forklifts. The need for docklevelers and other expensive equipment is eliminated and loading time is reduced to a minimum.
