Overview
The Steelbro Sidelifter has revolutionised the handling and delivery of containers. Like many successful innovations, the Sidelifter is based on simple concepts using sound engineering principles and a practical appreciation of the users' requirements. In essence, a Steelbro Sidelifter comprises a semi trailer, incorporating a pair of folding cranes which can pick up and offload a container.

No other machine of the type offers the durability, flexibility or engineering excellence inherent in the Steelbro Sidelifter.
Six models of the Steelbro Sidelifter are available, and variations of each model gives the Sidelifter a unit for every application.
Steelbro has been at the forefront of container handling technology for several decades, and as well as introducing the Sidelifter to the world, is also responsible for the Isoloader range of straddle carriers.  Low Folding Cranes
The 'Lowline' compact crane is exceptionally strong and very difficult to damage due to their unique fold-down design.
The low profile of the Lowline crane allows straddle carriers and other loading devices maximum clearance, reducing the risk of knocks and damage. With the cranes parked in the Lowline form, the wear and tear usually encountered with other designs on pins, bushes and the chassis during on-road travel is eliminated. As the cranes travel folded, the compact form gives the trailer a much lower centre of gravity than comparable machines which enhances the Sidelifter's handling abilities, stability and safety on the road.
Speed and reliability
The Sidelifter's selectable dual-speed proportional control offered on almost all models, ensures silky smooth control of the load at all times, in both high-speed rapid deployment mode, and the low-speed maximum safety mode, used when handling 36 tonne containers.
Steelbro's individually controllable, tiltable and extendible stabiliser assemblies offer more than 350mm clearance between the container and stabiliser, allowing the operator to place the stabiliser leg with precision, reducing the possibility of damaging valuable plant or equipment in tight operational situations.
Because the legs can be positioned independently, total stabilisation can be guaranteed even when one or both legs are at different heights, such as on uneven ground, on trailer decks or rail wagons.
Proportional Control
Danfoss proportional control valves are incorporated into the Steelbro Sidelifter MK6, SB33 and SB30 because of their superb handling characteristics, proven safety attributes, smooth proportional lever control and the security a world-wide service network offers. Able to be supplied with either cable or radio control activation, the Danfoss proportional control valve offers an unrivalled level of safety.

 Versatility
The Steelbro Sidelifter offers a level of outreach exceeding any other comparable machine, a massive 4000mm in the case of the MK6. This makes transfers to-or-from rail, trailer-to-trailer and double stacking a simple operation.
Expensive infrastructure such as loading docks, large forklifts or loading cranes need not be invested in as the Sidelifter is the most versatile, mobile, quick and safe way of moving a container.
